Corpus Rosmini

PAROLE-SIMPLE-CLIPS is a four-level general purpose lexicon that has been elaborated over three different projects. The kernel of the morphological and syntactic lexicons was built in the framework of the European project "Preparatory Action for Linguistic Resources Organisation for Language Engineering" (LE-PAROLE). The linguistic model and the core of the semantic lexicon were elaborated within the European project "Semantic Information for Multifunctional Plurilingual Lexica" (LE-SIMPLE). The phonological level of the description and the extension of the lexical coverage were produced in the context of the Italian project "Corpora e Lessici dell'Italiano Parlato e Scritto" (CLIPS). It comprises a total of 387,267 phonetic units, 53,044 morphological units (53,044 lemmas), 37,406 syntactic units (28,111 lemmas) and 28,346 semantic units (19,216 lemmas). It was encoded at the semantic level, in full accordance with the international standards set out in the PAROLE-SIMPLE model and based on EAGLES. Syntactic and semantic encodings were performed jointly with Thamus (Consortium for Multilingual Documentary Engineering), which is responsible for 25,000 extra entries. PAROLE-SIMPLE-CLIPS was created incrementally between the end of the 1990s and 2003.

ItalWordNet (IWN) is a lexical-semantic database developed in the framework of two different research projects: EuroWordNet (EWN) and Sistema Integrato per il Trattamento Automatico del Linguaggio (SI-TAL).
IWN is structured in the same way as the Princeton WordNet, namely around the notion of synset. Following the model designed in EWN, IWN encodes a rich set of semantic relations. In addition to the internal language relations, equivalence relations were also encoded between Italian synsets and the closest concepts in an Inter-Lingual Index (ILI), a separate language-independent module containing all WN1.5 synsets but not the relations among them.
IWN now contains information about Italian Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives and Adverbs.
This SQL version of IWN v2.0 contains a corrected and revised version of the original IWN:
49350 Synsets (of which: 3459 proper nouns, 32073 nominal, 8903 verbal, 4374 adjectival, 541 adverbial)
48416 Lemmas (of which: 3918 proper nouns, 29527 nouns, 8015 verbs, 5808 adjectives, 1090 adverbs)

Initiated by ELRA and FlaReNet and introduced at LREC 2010, the LRE Map is a new mechanism intended to monitor the use and creation of language resources by collecting information on both existing and newly-created resources during the submission process. It is a collective enterprise of the LREC community, as a first step towards the creation of a very broad, community-built, Open Resource Infrastructure. It is meant to become an essential instrument to monitor the field and to identify shifts in shifts in the production, use, and evaluation of LRs and LTs over the years.
At LREC 2010, nearly 2,000 language resource forms have been filled in. Apart from providing a portrait of the resources behind the community, of their uses and usability, the LRE Map intends to be a measuring instrument for monitoring the field of language resources.
The feature has been so successful that it has been implemented also at COLING 2010 and EMNLP 2010, while other major conferences are in the pipeline, in addition to the LRE Journal.
The demo url contains only a part of the data.

This dataset contains the original responses to a questionaire run in 2016 within the DLDP project about the use and usability of 4 European regional and minority languages on digital media and devices: namely Basque, Breton, Karelian and Sardinian (See http://www.dldp.eu/content/survey-digital-fitness).
The majority of questions were closed questions where respondents had to tick a box, occasionally multiple choice was allowed. A few questions required free text provision.
The questionnaire was designed using 'Google Forms' and was run on the same platform in the summer 2016.
The results of the survey are brielfly presented in the DLDP reports available here: http://www.dldp.eu/content/reports-digital-language-diversity-europe

This is a lexical acquisition web-service for the automatic extraction of multiword expressions from large corpora. The service takes in input a POS-tagged corpus in CoNLL-X format plus a pair of POS-tags for the first and last word of a MWE, and outputs a list of extracted (candidate) multiword expressions with a set of linguistic and statistical information.
The output can then be post-processed through filters that will refine and improve the accuracy of the extraction, and finally converted to an LMF-compliant XML lexical resource.
The tool code is available open-source at https://github.com/francescafrontini/MWExtractor.

languageDescription
grammar
The AraMorph's original engine (https://sourceforge.net/projects/aramorph/files/aramorph/1.2.1) uses six linguistic files. Three Arabic-English lexicon files: prefixes (299 entries), suffixes (618 entries), and stems (82158 entries representing 38600 lemmas). Other three files consist of morphological compatibility tables used for controlling prefix-stem combinations (1648 entries), stem-suffix combinations (1285 entries), and prefix-suffix combinations (598 entries).
The present data consists of the updated lexical resources used by the Aramorph' engine. The updates take advantage of a number of orthographic, morpho-syntactic and semantic constraints that operate at the word level. Therefore, the Arabic-English lexicon files contain: prefixes (335 entries), suffixes (876 entries), and stems (35475 entries). Note that the number of stems is smaller in Plus than in Original, due to the removal of obsolete entries and of a number of foreign names that are unlikely to be found in Arabic texts. The morphological compatibility tables used for controlling prefix-stem combinations (2698 entries), stem-suffix combinations (2161 entries), and prefix-suffix combinations (1295 entries).

This is the parent item and links to 29 child items. Specifically, this item together with the 29 children is the famous Arabic medieval dictionary al-qāmūs l-muḥīṭ. It was compiled by the Persian lexicographer Al-fīrūz’ābādī. It belongs to lexicographical tradition and it is divided in sections (in Arabic bāb). Each section is devoted to an alphabetical consonant constituting the last radical consonant and is divided into chapters (in Arabic faṣl) ordered according to the first radical consonant. Each chapter (faṣl) is also divided into various parts gathering root family i.e. all lexical entries that have same root. In each chapter, roots are listed alphabetically according to the second radical consonant. Finally, lexical entries are grouped together under the root from which are derived. In the version uploaded, we adopted the original division based upon sections. Each section contains a text file and various XML files. The text file is the original plain text along with the macro (and micro) structure of the medieval dictionary: sections, chapters, roots, lexical entries and so on. There are two main types of XML files. One type contains the conversion of the plain text into a well formed XML document arranged according to the part of speech (verbs, noun, adjectives, proper nouns) of the lexical entry, while the other adds English translation of the lexical entries.

The SSHOC Multilingual Data Stewardship Terminology is a multilingual terminology that collects terms specific to the domain of Data Stewardship, as well as their definitions. A list of domain-specific terms was automatically extracted from a corpus pertaining to the domain of Data Stewardship and Curation, validated by domain experts, assigned a definition, and linked to other existing terminologies (Loterre Open Science Thesaurus, terms4FAIRskills, Linked Open Vocabularies, ISO terms and definitions). Each term-definition pair was then automatically translated into multiple languages (Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Slovenian) by employing Deep-L. The Multilingual Data Stewardship Terminology thus consists of 210 concepts available in Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Slovenian. This resource was created within the frame of the SSHOC (Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud) project (H2020-INFRAEOSC-2018-2-823782). It is the result of the work of Task 3.1.2 "extraction of terminology from technical documentation about standards and interoperability", as described in D3.9, carried out jointly by ILC-CNR and CLARIN ERIC.

SSHOC Multilingual Metadata is based on the metadata set of the CLARIN Concept Registry (CCR). The CCR 232 approved metadata concepts, as well as their definitions, were automatically translated into several languages (Dutch, French, Greek, Italian) thanks to the support of Machine Translation tools, and eventually validated by native speakers who were also expert of the domain. This resource was created within the frame of the SSHOC (Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud) project (H2020-INFRAEOSC-2018-2-823782). It is the result of the work of Task 3.1.3 "creating Multilingual metadata and taxonomies for discovery", as described in D3.9, carried out jointly by ILC-CNR and CLARIN ERIC.

LexicO is a resource deriving from Parole-Simple-Clips (http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11752/ILC-88).
This resource contains all four levels of linguistic information represented in PSC (phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics) which have been automatically analysed to find redundant, erroneous and missing data.
The process of updating that conducted to the current version of LexicO starting from PSC included: i) the removal of all sure redundant entries (i.e. duplicates) belonging to all four linguistic levels; ii) the creation of tables dedicated to candidate redundants, detected by considering specific similarities amongst entries; iii) the correction of missing semantic and syntax-semantics interface relations amongst the entries of lexicon.

corpus
The TrAVaSI_VoDIM Corpus is a sample of the corpus built for the Vocabolario Dinamico Dell’Italiano Moderno (VoDIM, Marazzini and Maconi, 2018), gathering Italian texts from 1861 to the present day, after the Unification of Italy. TrAVaSI_VoDIM is balanced and representative of different prose domains (art, gastronomy, law, newspapers, literature, popular fiction, science), for a total of about 21.000 tokens. TrAVaSI_VoDIM is morpho-syntactically annotated and lemmatized. The annotation, conforming to the Universal Dependencies standard (UD, De Marneffe et al. 2021), has been carried out semi-automatically. First, TrAVaSI_VoDIM was automatically annotated with the Stanza “combined” model for Italian. Automatic annotation was then manually revised. The resulting corpus has also been used to retrain Stanza to deal with historical varieties of the Italian language: achieved results are encouraging.

corpus
The TrAVaSI_GDLI-quotation corpus (TrAVaSI_GDLI-QC) is a first nucleus of a diachronic corpus for Italian collecting a sample of the quotations of a historical dictionary, namely the "Grande Dizionario della Lingua Italiana" (GDLI) by Salvatore Battaglia, which includes a huge collection of quotations covering the entire history of the Italian language, ranging from the Middle Ages to the present day. Different criteria guided the composition of the corpus. Among the most cited authors, those who guaranteed to cover the widest chronological span were selected. Representativeness of different text typologies (e.g. chronicle, literary prose, poetry, treatises) was also taken into account. The resulting TrAVaSI_GDLI-QC consists of two balanced sub-corpora, with quotations from works written between 14th and 20th century: one collecting 1500 prose quotes from 15 authors (100 each) for a total of about 35.000 tokens, and the other gathering 500 poetry quotes from 10 authors (50 each) for a total of about 10.000 tokens. TrAVaSI_GDLI-QC is morpho-syntactically annotated and lemmatized. The annotation, conforming to the Universal Dependencies standard (UD, De Marneffe et al. 2021), has been carried out semi-automatically. First, both sub-corpora were automatically annotated with the Stanza “combined” model for Italian. Automatic annotation was then manually revised. The resulting corpus has also been used to retrain Stanza to deal with historical varieties of the Italian language: achieved results are encouraging.

The resource contains a list of lemmatized forms generated by MAGIC, a morphological analyzer developed at the Institute of Computational Linguistics by Vito Pirrelli and Marco Battista. The morphological generator, one of the modules of the tool, takes a list of lemmas and produces an output that includes: a reference lemma, forms generated based on heuristics, part of speech (POS), and morphological features attributed to the form.
The generated output consists of a series of linguistic objects called "words," encoded in the form of a Macro (the 'word' macro), without morphological restrictions. The generated forms do not include information related to segmental or suprasegmental (stress position) phonology.

From the abstract of https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10579-020-09520-6
"The LRE Map of Language Resources" was Initiated by ELRA and FlaReNet and "introduced at LREC 2010.
Its intended purpose was: 'to shed light on the vast amount of resources that represent the background
of the research presented at LREC'.
It also aimed at a change of culture in the field, actively engaging each researcher both in the documentation
task about resources and in sharing resources. When we started to use it regularly also in other conferences, it became clear that it was an innovative instrument able to provide a picture of the field and its evolution as reflected by
the creation and use of Language Resources. "
The LREMap has been used by LREC, COLING, ACL, and other conferences to gather data about LR as they are used,
described, modified... by the authors when they submit their contributions to conferences.
As a database, the LREMap is used by the conference submission software to provide the authors
with all the available information about the LR they are citing in their papers.
The goal is to restrict the information that authors provide (e.g., regarding availability, usage of LR) to converge towards a
a limited list of such values.
The SQL dump here provided contains the LREMap data from 2010 to 2018

corpus
The ADAM spoken corpus is a collection of 450 spoken dialogues: they are both human-human (200 dialogues) and human-machine (250 dialogues). All the dialogues are recordings and transcriptions of telephone conversations in the semantic domain of tourism and railway transportation. The format of the audio files is the standard format for telephone signal data recommended by the SPEECHDAT3 project directions. Each dialogue is annotated at five levels of linguistic information: prosody, morphosyntax, syntax, semantics and pragmatics. For each level a corresponding annotation scheme has been defined that provides annotation instructions, examples and criteria. The result of each annotation is an XML file that encodes the content of a dialogue with respect to a particular level according to the annotation scheme of that level. The human-human dialogues are simulated telephone conversations between two experimental subjects, playing the roles of a travel agent and of a caller, respectively. The human-machine dialogues were collected on the field: they are interactions between callers and the automatic telephone information service of the Italian railway company, recorded during an experimental phase of that service. Each dialogue in the ADAM corpus is represented by an orthographic transcription (physically an XML file), which in turn is linked to an audio file containing the corresponding recording. In addition, the transcription of each dialogue is associated to five XML annotation files, according to five different levels or layers of linguistic information, namely prosody, morphosyntax, syntax, semantics and pragmatics.

The PAROLE project (Preparatory Action for Linguistic Resources Organization for Language Engineering) has produced a set of harmonized corpora and lexicons for a large number of European languages. Each corpus, made up of 20 million words, was built up as reference corpus for Human Language Technology applications, to
provide full information about a large variety of text types in the language considered, to represent the use of contemporary language and to become the first nucleus of an electronic text library. The texts have been stored using a common format following the standards recommended in the CES (Corpus Encoding Standard), according to
flexibility and multifunctionality criteria. The texts belong to a wide range of media and genres, selected in proportions aimed at reflecting their prominence within the society, classified according to medium, genre, topic and time of production.

EpiLexO is a user friendly web application for the creation and editing of an integrated system of language resources for ancient fragmentary languages centered on the lexicon, in compliance with current digital humanities and Linked Open Data principles. EpiLexo allows for the editing of lexica with all relevant cross-references: for their linking to their testimonies, as well as to bibliographic information and other (external) resources and common vocabularies.
This front-end application rests on a Service-Oriented Architecture with two main back-end components, the LexO-server (\handle) and the CASH-server (1github), which manage lexica and textual documents respectively via Rest-ful APIs web-services, plus additional services for the management of other aspects such as access and authentication, XML rendering, etc.
All code is available on https://github.com/DigItAnt/
The application has been developed in the context of a project on the languages of fragmentary attestation of ancient Italy, but can be applied to other similar contexts.

computationalLexicon
CompL-it is a computational lexicon for Italian derived from LexicO (https://dspace-clarin-it.ilc.cnr.it/repository/xmlui/handle/20.500.11752/ILC-977), with the integration of following resources:
- M-GLF (https://dspace-clarin-it.ilc.cnr.it/repository/xmlui/handle/20.500.11752/ILC-1002), a list of lemmatized forms generated by the morphological analyzer MAGIC (Battista and Pirrelli, 1999, Pirrelli and Battista 2000);
- a set of treebanks for Italian (contained in https://lindat.cz/repository/xmlui/handle/11234/1-4611):
- ISDT;
- VIT;
- ParTUT;
- ParlaMint-it.
The resource contains a morphological layer (including lemmas, inflected forms, and morphological features) and a semantic layer (including senses and relations between them). Entries are encoded according to the OntoLex-Lemon model and made available as a semantic repository.
